Southern Madagascar Adventure Summary
Day 1 Antananarivo
Welcome to Tana! The first taste of Malagasy life, and the start of your Madagascar adventure.
Day 2 Andasibe
Today we travel to the east of the island to the town of Andasibe. This town is surrounded by several reserves, known as the kingdom of lemurs.
Day 3 Andasibe
Discover the dense forest of the East, home to the Indri, as well as other forms of flora and fauna and a wide array of bird life.
Day 4 Antsirabe
Full day drive down to the highland town of Antsirabe, with its wide colonial streets and colourful pousse-pousse.
Day 5 Ranomafana
Morning drive to Ranomafana National Park trough the highlands scenic landscapes, stopping en- route at the arts-and-crafts capital Ambositra.
Day 6 Ranomafana
Today we explore Park National de Ranomafana with a local guide.
Day 7 Ranohira
Today we travel down south towards Parc National de l’Isalo. We overnight in the small town of Ranohira, which serves the park.
Day 8 Ranohira
Full day to discover Isalo National Park, Isalo is like a museum dedicated to the art of the desert canyon.
Day 9 Anakao
Today we travel to the seaside getaway of Anakao.
Day 10 Anakao
This morning, we will board a local sailing boat for a half day excursion to Nosy Vé island.
Day 11 Anakao
Full day at leisure on the beach.
Day 12 Ifaty
Morning boat transfer to Tulear. then drive to the Arboretum of Antsokay, which is 15 km to the north of Tulear, for a short visit. It is the best place to see the endemic plants of the southern part of Madagascar. Lunch, then drive on a dusty road to the North west until Ifaty.
Day 13 Antananarivo
Morning visit of the spiny forest of Ifaty. Not only you can see different species of spiny trees but you can also enjoy the famous baobabs. Then transfer to the airport of Tulear to catch the flight to Tananarive.
Day 14 Antananarivo
Your Madagascar adventure comes to an end this morning with a transfer to the airport to catch your international flight.
