Welcome to Cambodia.
Siem Reap has reinvented itself as the epicentre of chic Cambodia, you can enjoy world-class wining and dining across a range of cuisines, sumptuous spas, great shopping, local tours to suit both foodies and adventurers, and a creative cultural scene.
Today you'll visit the world-famous Angkor complex with your guide. The ruins are scattered over an area of some 160 square kilometres; this is the biggest religious monument in the world. However, the main cluster of temples is close to Siem Reap, so you'll have plenty of time to fully appreciate the great archaeological sites of Angkor Wat (the astounding main attraction), the Bayon (a marvel of many sculpted decorations) and Ta Prohm (the eerily beautiful temples covered in jungle). .
Today an eight hour bus journey take you to Kratie, a picturesque town on the banks of the Mekong river.
Today we visit Thma Krae village to sample some tasty local foods, Sambok Moutain to see the pagoda on top, the famous Kampi Dolphin Pool to observe the unique and endangered Mekong River dolphins and the 100 pillars pagoda and Mekong Turtle Conservation center,
We then take a slow local wooden boat to Koh Phdao village. Enjoy the peace, tranquility and natural beauty of a unique rural island and take the opportunity to immerse yourself completely in village life.
This morning you return to Kratie by boat and taxi and then continue your bus journey to Phnom Penh (+/- 5 hrs).
The Cambodian capital is a chaotic yet charming city. Once the ‘Pearl of Asia’, Phnom Penh’s shine was tarnished by the impact of war and revolution. But the city has since risen from the ashes to take its place among the hip capitals of the region, with an alluring cafe culture, one of the most beautiful riverfronts in the region, bustling bars and a world-class food scene.
Spend the day learning about Phnom Penh's past and present. Delve into the region's history; it's dark but essential to understanding the Cambodia of today. Visit sombre spots made infamous by the Khmer Rouge and learn about the current politics that continue to shape this country. Then, get out of the capital to visit an island on the Mekong, where you'll experience the local way of life along the river.
This morning you will travel by bus(+/- 5hrs) journey to Sihanoukville.
Surrounded by beaches and idyllic tropical islands, Sihanoukville (Kompong Som) is Cambodia’s premier seaside resort.
This morning take the speed ferry to Koh Rong Samloem.(+/- 45min)
Koh Rong Samloem is a peaceful getaway in the Gulf of Thailand. The next two days you can relax and enjoy the island life with idyllic turquoise-blue waters, white sandy beaches, no cars and no roads. After dark you can go swimming amongst the bioluminescent plankton, a truly magical experience.
This morning is your last chance to relax on the beautiful beaches, before your flight to Siem Reap.
Spend the morning out on the water among the floating villages and farms of Tonle Sap. Recharge on the lake where villagers fish and farm is the perfect antidote to Angkor overload (it happens).
The afternoon is yours to explore Siem Reap's markets.
Your Cambodian adventure comes to an end with your transfer to the airport for your flight home.
