Detailed itinerary - Christmas Short Break

DAY 1 - MUONIO

Welcome to Finland ! Arrival at Kittilä airport and transfer to Muonio wilderness hotel. You will be issued with your warm winter clothes.

DAY 2 - MUONIO

After breakfast we will go to the husky farm where you will have a guided tour and meet some of our husky pups to have a cuddle with. Learn a little about the dogs before enjoying a 6km safari. Lunch will be taken in the main hotel. In the afternoon we make a Finnish traditional Christmas elf.

DAY 3 - MUONIO

After breakfast we will transfer to a local reindeer farm to meet the reindeer. You will have a chance to feed the reindeer, learn how to throw a lasso and experience a short reindeer ride. Lunch will be served in the ice restaurant before returning to the hotel. This afternoon you will bake Finnish cookies and make a Christmas stocking.

DAY 4 - MUONIO

After breakfast we head out on a 20km snowmobile safari, with two adults sharing a snowmobile and children sitting in a sled pulled by a local guide. Lunch will be taken in the hotel. The afternoon fun continues with snow fun. Test your skills at snowshoeing, cross country skiing or zooming down the toboggan slope (you are never too old to toboggan!). Children will also have a chance to drive their own mini snowmobile, under supervision.

Go out searching for Santa by snowmobile. Head off to the forest, eyes peeled as you look out for the elves on the way. As you near you can see moving lanterns as the elves sneak up through the forest and greet you on your sleigh. They know the secret path to Santa’s cabin and will guide your family through the lantern lit path straight to his door. As the children knock on his door, will they wake him up from his little nap around the fire
